A change of clothes
We express ourselves through different means such as writing, photography or materials we use for our clothes. We can choose different colors, textures or quality. It can serve not only to express our individuality but also our traditions and cultures. Apart from self-expression we use materials to provide protection. However, the way and speed with which we obtain clothes and materials for them can lead to environmental problems due to exploitation of natural resources or generation of waste. Since the process of choosing fabrics and crafting clothes is slower than simply buying clothes at a store I wanted the photographs to reflect this and allow the viewer to slow down as well. The title of the project refers on one hand to literally buying another change of clothes, very often on a whim during a sale, but also to the slower change or transformation that fabrics undergo to become clothes.
